Our Cayman Islands Corporate team recently acted for IHS Holding Limited (NYSE: IHS) (IHS Towers) on its proposed sale to MTN Group Limited. On February 17, 2026, IHS announced that it entered into a merger agreement to be acquired by MTN Group Limited for US$8.50 per share in an all-cash deal. The transaction gives IHS Towers an enterprise value of around US$6.2bn.
IHS Towers is one of the largest independent owners, operators and developers of shared communications infrastructure in the world by tower count, with over 37,000 towers across seven markets. MTN is a pan-African mobile operator, and also a major shareholder of IHS Towers.
